I just wanted to thank John & Kathy. Our family is struggling due to layoffs and we own a 1978 car as a daily driver that is always breaking down. John & Kathy, members of our church noticed this and donated their car to us! They have no idea how much they touched our lives and helped. I always get tears in my eyes thinking about this, we will always be thankful for your act of kindness.

My class was going on a field trip and we all were exited to go. The trip was different in that it costs $50 per person. I overheard one of my classmates tell the teacher he couldn’t afford the price of the ticket. My mother and I decided to anonymously donate the money so he could go. We had a great time and I’m glad my whole class was able to attend.

I was on my way to the grocery store and noticed a mother and her two kids on the side of the road next to their car. It was pretty cold out and I knew I had to do something. They had broken down and since I have AAA I decided to help. I let them sit in my warm car while we waited for the tow truck. The kids were great and we had a blast playing and making up games while we waited. Im assuming they made it home safely as I departed when the tow truck arrived. Its always nice to lend a hand.

This happened to me the other day and I’m thankful for people like this and you all. I recently had surgery and have been unable to maintain and do yard work. We got a foot plus of snow the other day and I had no idea how I was going to get out of the driveway to go to my doctors appointment in the morning. I was shocked to see my driveway cleared when I woke up in the morning. All I can say is thanks and I have some great neighbors. You never know how much these acts touch the heart!

I live in North Dakota, and it gets cold here in the winters. On my way to work I always see this young lady walking on the road. I finally stopped to see if she needed a ride. It turns out she works right next to me. She is a mother of 3 and trying to make a living, and has no car. We now carpool and I pick her up. Its great to be able to help her in a time of need

This wasn’t a huge act, but I enjoy doing whatever I can. I was at the grocery store waiting in line to checkout when the lady in front of me found out she didn’t have enough money. I immediately handed over the remaining balance to the cashier. The look on the ladies face was thanks enough. She was shocked that a complete stranger would help her out!

I just wanted to share this with you all, this happened last Christmas!

Money had been really tight during the winter due to the loss of our jobs, and it gets very cold where we live. We had gone to a coat drive to find coats for my 3 children. Upon receiving the coats our girls were constantly being made fun of at school. The teacher overheard and gave her son my children’s names. (I guess he was looking for just such an occasion to help someone for Christmas).

A few days later he surprised all my children with brand new winter outfits including coats!

I know God loves me!

Just wanted to say thanks to a stranger

I always see cars and people stranded on the side of the road while driving. This is an easy opportunity to help someone in need. Sometimes it is as easy as letting them use your cell phone or helping them get gas. I try to do this as often as possible. Just today I helped a stranded family that was waiting for hours for someone to help. All they needed was a little gas and they were on their way!

So if you see someone on the side of the road, stop and see if you can help them out. Who knows you might even change their day or life.

I was not employed at the time and I was getting help from the government by getting food stamps. One day, I was walking to the store when I noticed a little man sitting on a bench across from the store. I walked past him but could not stop thinking about him.

I turned around and went up to him and asked him if he was ok. He said no. He said he hadn’t eaten in 2 days. I told him, “Dont worry, I’ll be right back.” I turned back again and asked him what he would like. He said it didn’t matter. I then asked him to tell me what he hadn’t had in a long time. He said “a Pepsi”. I went into the store and got him a loaf of bread, some lunch meat, chips, cookies — enough food for a few days. The store I had gone into didn’t have “Pepsi” so I had some change; it wasn’t much because I wasn’t working but it didn’t matter. I used the last of what I had to get him his Pepsi from the 7-11 across the street.

When I brought him his food and his “Pepsi” he cried. I cried too. But when he stood up to hug me, I noticed that the bench he was sitting on, had an inscription on it: “In God we trust.”

I have walked past that bench every day and never ever noticed the inscription. When I hugged this man, I had a feeling I never felt before. I can’t even explain the feeling. I started walking home with tears running down my face but when I turned back to see the little man, he was gone. This is why I think He was an angel from God.

Today,  I purchased two-meals-to-go at a local KFC. Time to pay, my billfold was not in my purse. Apologizing to the cashier, I turned to leave and heard someone say,”how much is it”? I kept moving, since I thought I had only overheard this, but the same voice said,”I’ll pay for it.” In spite of my babbling,refusals and surprise, the stranger paid for the food.

Not being able to pay,was embarrassing, but the random act of kindness from a stranger was very humbling. Reluctantly Charles gave me his address. I feel so blessed to be a recipient of a random act of kindness. “Each day we see less of the shadow and more of the sun
